How does an everyday kopitiam build an arts community?

CITRUS practices and The Artists Village invite you to reimagine what a local coffee shop can be at Tonight, we are a village. This participatory installation restages the former S-11 coffee shop outside the Old National Library, a popular meeting point for arts workers. Through gathering and hanging out as a community, experience how everyday gestures of eating, conversing, playing games, and singing karaoke generate ways of thinking collectively.

Open throughout the festival, you can come by for some kacang puteh, coffee, or tea (while quantities last). The installation will also host a series of creative exchanges, so do check out one of these sessions, or just chat and chill here between the many CITRUS fest programmes!
